She spent the beginning of her career as the head of Consultation Liaison (CL) Psychology at Surrey Memorial Hospital where she focused on creating a vibrant and highly collaborative CL service that provides psychiatric care to patients on surgical and medical wards as well as the oncology and palliative care units. She also was awarded an Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines for managing vulnerable patients in hospitals.

She is also the Provincial Practice director for Psychiatry in BC Cancer, Clinical Associate professor at UBC, and the Past-President BC Psychiatric Association. She is an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and adjunct faculty in the UM PM&R & Family Medicine residency programs.
