It uses dual laser LiDAR that is similar to the one used in self-driving vehicles. It can scan up to 32 feet by the 270-degree angle. This means more precise mapping, faster response time, and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with an adjustable mopping pad made of chenille fabric. This makes it easier to scrub hard areas more effectively as opposed to traditional mopping. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to wash its pad before getting to work, and I noticed it was much more accurate than the previous models, which seemed to follow a gridded path around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms' corners and edges, and also create an "Zambani pattern" that ran up and down the center of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station on a regular basis to empty the dustbin, and clean the mop using hot water prior to beginning another task of cleaning.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is a breeze to set up and begin using. It takes just a few minutes to secure the dock into place, plug it in and connect it to your Wi-Fi network at home. The ECOVACS T10 Omni is an extremely powerful vacuum and mopping machine. It is the most advanced model of the brand's T-line and features a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system which uses dual-spinning brushes for superior cleaning over traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also has YIKO built-in, a unique natural language processing technology that can respond to a range of voice commands. The biggest issue with the T10 Omni is that it cannot switch from mopping and vacuuming in one run. The T10 Omni comes with two modes that require you to attach mop heads to and from the vacuum according to your needs. This is great for most households, but not for people who have a busy schedule.

The Deebot T10 Omni is a superb robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our tests on pet hair. It was able to remove more than 96% debris from our hardwood flooring. This is a fantastic performance. It was a success on carpets and tiles, removing the majority of dirt.

This robotic vacuum and mop has large docking stations that offers cool water cleaning for the mop pads, auto-emptying into a 3L plastic bag that is easy to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and easy maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be rinsed and dried more frequently between mopping sessions.

Deebot T10 has an integrated wash tray into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It uses the wash tray to wash and dry its mop pads while using them. But it doesn't use a removable tray, which means that dirty water, dust, and other grime gradually builds up in the bottom of the tray over time.

This is the first mopping model from Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It has improved intelligence, multiple map support, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the floor you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robot cleaner that's stylish even if its claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning does not come true.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular design with sweeping wheels and an elevated space for sensors. On the opposite side you'll find a motorized floorbrush as well as one side brush that pushes dust from the edges into the main path of its' mouth.' It's a bit smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.

The mapping system is quite sophisticated and allows you to set no-mop zones and specific cleaning zones. However it is prone to hit things (including its charging dock) and isn't the best at climbing over rug. It did a good job of picking up pet hair on floors that were not paved however, and in our tests, it took in 89.5 percent of cat litter - a figure that puts it ahead of any of the most powerful robots we've tested.

The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, however it also has a set of physical buttons on its base. These buttons allow you to select a cleaning mode or turn the robot off/on. You can also use these to set no-go zones and see real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty, and will inform you of what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or warn you if something isn't working.

This budget-friendly model from a popular upstart brand is the most affordable robot we've tested yet and offers an exceptional value for the money. The basic navigation system employs an extremely basic random pathing algorithm and lacks room mapping capabilities, making it less time efficient than the other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and into corners. Mopping mode was very effective in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as robust as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at getting rid of pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles and bare floors. It also utilizes smart-pathing navigational software for greater mobility. It can be sent to a specific area, and has a suite of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you stop and restart the cleaning process and is perfect for households with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent knots from pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying dock station can store up to 30 days worth of dirt before it needs to be empty. It also comes with a set of angled side brushes that dig deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system captures dust, dander and allergens for cleaner air.

This robot vacuum feels solid and well-constructed, and it has a smartphone app that lets you change the settings for your vacuum and plan cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app allows you to check the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications if it encounters any issues during a cleaning session. You can make use of your voice to control the device using an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device or, if you do not have either of these devices, you can mark areas with physical boundary marker strips.
