Congressional Cemetery is a 35-acre historic but lively burial floor situated on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Initially recognized as the Washington Parish Burial Floor, Congressional grew to become the first cemetery of national reminiscence, as Congress purchased websites, buried famous civil servants and financed the infrastructure. Among the nearly 70,000 burials at Congressional are scores of noteworthy residents who left their mark on town and the nation.
